Women with Vision

Sunday afternoon. It’s sort of a mandatory rest time for everyone in our family. While the house sits briefly still, I reheat a cup of coffee, grab my notebook, a pen and our calendar.

As I sit there, I pencil it all in, with a page for each day. Our plans, my personal goals, meal ideas, work outs, blog posts. As I write, any feelings of confusion or anxiety about the days ahead slip away.  I can see our week on paper, I know what we’re doing, where we need to go and what I’d love to accomplish. I have a plan for myself and for my family. I have vision.

Recently I chatted with a dear friend of mine about what how much responsibility we carry as Moms, when it comes to the atmosphere in our homes. If we’re happy and functioning well, our family is usually doing well, too. But if we’re rushed, scatterbrained, overloaded and overwhelmed, our family suffers right along with us. I want to function well, but without a plan, I usually fail.

As you go into this next week, consider taking the time to silence yourself and think about what you’d like your week to look like. Do you need to set aside quiet moments to read or do the things you love? How  are you supposed to spend your days? What do you want to feed your family? How do you want to spend intentional time with your kids? If you’re a visual person like me, take a few moments and write it all down.

We were created to be women with vision. Together, let’s go into this week prepared to thrive.
