Last Saturday the day started with Yogamosa, a class I’ve been wanting to try for awhile now. I mean, how wonderful does it sound to start your Saturday doing yoga on the gorgeous Everett waterfront, followed by a delicious cocktail. This class is taught by the beautiful and kind Carly Hayden from Catalyst Yoga. Not only is she a great teacher, but she’s also super easy to talk to, the kind of girl you want to be friends with.
Hosted by Bluewater Distilling (@bwdistilling) an amazing organic distillery on the Everett Waterfront, this class was a great place to sweat and clear my mind before launching into a weekend full of baseball and plans. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Bluewater has a great atmosphere, wonderful people, the workout was challenging (but suitable for all levels) and the cocktail was YUM! I can not wait to come back to Bluewater for a date night or ladies night out sometime soon. The yoga class was perfect for a Saturday morning. It was challenging enough to leave me with very sore abs the next day, but easy enough to make me not feel out of my league. Truly, it was the ideal way to start the weekend and Carly is such a great instructor. Besides teaching YogaMosa, she also teaches a wide variety of other classes and she’s a Mom as well, who goes hiking with her family. There’s so much to love about her.
Bluewater is the perfect setting for this type of class. This distillery produces small-batch spirits, created from the finest organic ingredients, using traditional copper pot stills to create a level of softness and smoothness that industrial producers will never match. They value community and tread lightly on the planet.
Adventurers at heart, you may catch them out in the marina paddle boarding, or working on the 45’ expedition aluminum sailboat in the distillery. Basically, they are everything we here at NW Healthy Mama love. Local. Organic. Fun. Active. There’s so much to love about this place. After our yoga class was over, John Lundin the owner of Bluewater, created some amazing cocktails for us. Watching him mix a drink is like watching an artist. He knows how to perfectly match a variety of flavors to create something unlike anything I’ve ever had before. …..And he’s a super nice guy, too. Great things are in store for this place.
Yogamosa is such a fun way to start the weekend. If you’re looking for an event to do with your girlfriends or a way to switch up your regular yoga routine, I think you’d love this.
