If you’re a blogger in the Seattle area, chances are you’ve heard of Seattle Bloggers Unite. It’s an awesome group where 1300+ locals help each other out with ideas, creative questions and the list goes on.
On Friday, it was awesome to see NW Healthy Mama as the featured blog in this group. Just for fun, I thought I’d share the interview questions that Kristie Hill (founder of the group) asked me. Hope this gives you an inside look to the “why” of this site!
1. Tell us about nwhealthymama.com
NW Healthy Mama lives and breathes the greater Seattle area and all the good it has to offer. Whether it’s a hike idea, a review of a local (awesome!) restaurant, a pumpkin patch you can’t miss, a healthy (and delicious) recipe, an encouraging post about motherhood, a local vacation idea, or a way to enjoy your home more fully, you’ll find it on the site.
2. Why did you start blogging?
As a life-long Washington resident who loves being active in my community and connecting with people, blogging is something that I just can’t help but do. Naturally, I share about what I love and I just happen to LOVE this area and the people in it. There’s so much goodness in the world that needs to be shared. I love being able to make the internet a little bit more positive everyday.
3. What is your favorite part about blogging?
Hands down, the people. I am so grateful for the in-real-life connections I’ve made through NW Healthy Mama. A true community has formed and I must say, all of the people I’ve encountered are simply amazing.
4. Can you share a blogging/social media tip that has worked for you?
Be real and be you. Don’t start a blog just to start a blog. If you have an interest in something that you can write about and share with the world on a regular basis, day after day, then start your blog. Don’t ask people what you should call it or constantly ask your readers what they’d like to read more of. Be confident in what YOU know and what YOU have to offer the world—not what you think everyone wants to hear. Readers can easily see who’s living and breathing their truth and who’s not. Just be you, be consistent and be full of love and gratitude for every person who reads what you share.
